HOW TO GET THE PERFECT CLAMP-ON MUZZLE BRAKE FIT FOR YOUR RIFLE?
A FEW THINGS TO CONSIDER BEFORE YOU MEASURE YOUR BARREL.
- This guide only applies to you if you are purchasing a CLAMP-ON Muzzle Brake for a non-threaded rifle. The tip of your barrel should be smooth; if screw like threads are present at the tip of your threaded barrel, this guide does not apply to you.
- If you have a non-threaded barrel, ordering a CLAMP-ON Muzzle Brake saves time and hassle of a gunsmith; additionally saving the customer $100 – $160 by eliminating the need to thread their barrel. Grizzly Gunworks Clamp-On Muzzle Brakes will not come off your barrel when shooting if properly installed and measured.
If you are wondering what are the performance benefits of getting your muzzle threaded, there are none; it is only personal preference. Grizzly Gunworks CLAMP-ON Muzzle Brake technology is superior, hence, it delivers equal performance to threaded Muzzle Brakes. - You MUST use CALIPERS – OR – a MICROMETER to take your measurements to 3 decimal places (e.g. 0.856 inches) or metric 2 decimal places (e.g. 20.85 mm). Your CLAMP-ON Muzzle Brake is custom made to fit your barrel with precision and alignment, hence accurate measurements are required.
A) Take first measurement on outer tip of your non-threaded barrel….Example 0.823
B) Take second measurement one inch up from the tip of the barrel….Example 0.834
